this/that/these thing(s)

a video of Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake:

it makes me tingle.

Popsicles and champagne. could be good, right? no, great.

this Dooney & Bourke. Normally I don't like them, but I looove this.
(and I really hope my mom gets it for me for mah beedayy)

this quote from a Nora Roberts (yes, I'm reading Nora Roberts - The Bride Quartet Series - It's not as ridiculous as it sounds, or maybe it is. I regret nothing.) Book I'm reading: "Amazonia... it's the girl world in my head, where I go when I'm annoyed with Carter, or just men in general. There are five shoe stores per capita, nothing has any calories, and all the books and movies end happy ever after... Amazonia, my friend, is always there, inside every woman's head. Just close your eyes, think: Manolo Blahnik. And you're there."

Lord Voldemort's Twitter account.
"Is your name 'Obliviate' or are you just naturally mind-blowing? HP7"

hipster neville. gets me every time.
also, when did matthew lewis grow up, and get hot?

fancy making your own cheese? if so, try these.

fujifilm instax. seriously, i want. i want. i want.

continuing with the totally random and unplanned Harry Potter theme of this post:

leisure dive. let's do this.. ok? who's with me?

a previous post. i would pee my pants if someone surprised me with one of these.

these girls. they are my rocks.

this map. what's your state worst at? there are so many stereotypes confirmed on this map it's not even funny... texas is worst in the nation for high school graduation. it's not bad considering some of the others. we could have bestiality, porn usage, gonorrhea...

I leave for Germany in...
42 days.
1008 hours
60480 minutes
3628800 seconds
(if my math is correct, and it is because I used a calculator)

and here's a whole bunch of posts with my favorite things.

6.27.2011

Germany, here I come.

Here's my wishlist for YWAM. Obvi, all of this isn't going to happen, but a girl can dream right?

Nikon FM10 analog camera.

A new camera backpack... Complete with a loptop sleeve, room for 2 cameras, and a rainproof cover. The canvess-ness gives it such a free-spirit feel. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but that's why I like it, on top of the fact that it looks super functional, especially with the straps on the side for a tripod.

This Mod camera strap for my D90 and this one for my FM10. My cousin's friend had one of these and they seem amazing. Plus, super cute!! Can you go wrong?? nope.

A leather photo album to take pictures of everyone I love back home. I know this one is outrageously expensive, but I just love it's rustic/vintage feel!

Possibly, an internal frame backpack.. I don't know if I for sure will need it, but they say to pack one just in case. Just in case?? It's such a huge item, it's not like I can just toss it in, but we'll make it work somehow. Can I just admit how much I don't know about these either... This might surprise some of you, but I'm not an outdoor girl (shocker, I know) and I've never been back packing, so I'm kinda lost in the world of good backpacks. I just like the color of this one. Pitiful, I know. My problem is carrying this with a camera backpack is going to be difficult because, you know, I only have two arms and one back (another shocker)!

A hardshell case to protect the Mac... it's like my baby.

While we're on the Mac train... lets just add an iPhone to the list. 32G in white, thank you very much! Yes, if you're wondering, I do live in my own fairy tale land... it's called the Land of Christina.

This massive LL Bean rolling duffle and maybe a medium that doesn't roll. Both in Gold and complete with my name... let's just hope I'll be able to carry it all after they're stuffed with 6 months worth of crap. btw... how are you supposed to pack for 6 months and 2 different climates?! Absurd.

A Northface Fleece Jacket. I know, everyone has these, but people have them for a reason... they're wonderful.

Snowboots. Check out the average highs/lows in Herrnhut. burrrr.

A sleeping mat and bag.

New Sunnies. I think these wayfarers have been on every wishlist I've made on this blog, and somehow they always get cut out of the budget. Well, NO MORE, I say. No. More.

I think that's all the fun (and not so fun) stuff. Of course, I have to get plug adapters, and stock up on 6 months worth of foundation, mascara, eyeliner, possibly shampoo, deodorant, and all that good stuff. I never thought about how daunting the task of packing for this trip would be. But who are we kidding, it'll all be worth it in the end.

I'm going to europe... I'm going to europe.... I'm going to europe.
...in nine weeks and two days.

ps.. it was recently brought to my attention (again) that women in Europe don't shave. I wonder if I should live like the natives? Again, who are we kidding here...shaved legs 4 lyfe.

....and Lady Antebellum does it again.

Seriously, I don't think they have made any songs that I don't like.
I'm particularily in love with this video... it's absolutely adorable. I love all videos that are like a mini-movie.

Maybe I love it cause it's filmed in Europe, or maybe because the male lead looks like Ryan Gossling in the Notebook. Either way, I love the video as much as I love the song.

Hope your Monday is going better than mine.
toodles.

5.20.2011

Music Monday

I've inadvertently (I just had to sound that out and use spell check) gotten into the habit of posting about my favorite music. Today it's Good Life by One Republic. It's their newest single, but in my defense it was my favorite song on the album, before it was famous. I just love the lyrics, the whistling, the drums... It's just a fun song. So, Enjoy.

And I hope it makes your Monday a little more bearable... After all, this is gonna be a Good Life :)

5.09.2011

please excuse me...

...while I leave my 22 year old body and become a child again.
Harry Potter Pastries:

How awesome are these??! I mean, seriously... I think I want one for my 23rd birthday!

And I will end with this, because it makes me laugh...
(this is the time to remember that I'm ridiculously immature)
and it also fits with the pastry theme:

I present to you...

The Warblers.

Hello Lovahs.

COACHELLA!!

Oh my goodness...
I want to go to Coachella. So bad, in fact, I added it to my life list. I can't believe it wasn't already on there. Unfortunately, I couldn't go this year, so it'll have to wait... but I love looking at all the pictures people that were there and what they were wearing!! Harper's Bazaar has a wonderful collection of some of their faves... so I took my top 11 (it would've been 10, but I couldn't eliminate one!) from them. It's going to be one hippy-lovin summer, I can already tell!! These pictures make me want to move to the beach asap.

2.16.2011

whoa.

I just found an amazing photographer, Jan Schlegel.

His pictures are truly moving. He photographs indiginous people in Africa, India, and other poverty stricken places. Here's two pictures that I really like, you should just go to his wesite and look at all of them. You will not regret it!

movie chain...

I'm about to go from Garden State to Killers, so hold onto your pants...

If you haven't seen it I highly recommend you rent it now. I love that it was so raw and in your face. It's an indie film, probably low budget, but I'm not sure. Zach Braff wrote and directed it... It's super good. At the end, the credits started rolling, and I just sat there for a few minutes, processing. There are so many stories within the main story and so much happening.

There is some questionable content, drugs, sex, etc. But it's just part of his journey, him finding out new things about himself, figuring out life. Under the surface, there's a love story (as there always is). All I can say is that it's just emotional. There's so many emotions, you will identify with at least one.
[And to top it off, Bilbo Baggins (Ian Holme) is his dad. Bahahaha I almost couldn't take that part of the story seriously.]

I kinda love Zach Braff... for some reason he reminds me of a slightly less cuteJoseph Gordon-Levitt, but still charming! yum. Which reminds me, if you haven't seen 500 Days of Summer, with him and Zooey Deschanel, get on it! It's a lot like Garden State, but a little less dark. I hated Zooey Deschanel for a few weeks after I watched it, but I'm over it now and back to LOVING her.

Natalie Portman (also in Garden State, if you lost me) is equally adorable as well! She's so innocent and looks super young! Unlike the way she was in Black Swan. Crazy, psycho, naieve (but not-so-naieve all at the same time), ballerina who needs a self-esteem boosts and some serious meds. Which also leads me to ask the question...

How many on-screen orgasms will Natalie Portman have this year??
(Please forgive my frankness, but seriously?! I'm curious.)
So say the least, Black Swan was very interesting. I liked it, but it was very hard to watch. There is nothing feel-good or heartwarming about this story. At the end you're just left sitting there thinking... "What just happened?"

Incidentally, I went to see No Strings Attached friday with Taylor. It was hilarious! Seriously, I wouldn't mind seeing it again! Of course, there's sex and bad languge. It wasn't the normal Chick Flick story line either. It had some deep issues that I feel like a lot of people in the world today have.

and Ashton Kutcher... as cute and funny as ever.  Guess where Ashton Kutcher leads us... To Killers. With Katherine Heigl.

It's cute, but lacked substance. I'd recommend watching it if yo need something light-hearted or just background noise while you're doing something else.

I could continue, but it would probably go on forever. So that's all for today.

The End
