Its funny.. after posting almost everyday for the past month, I feel like I need to write something today.
Oh my gosh... the Chilean Miners are all over the news, as they should be. SIXTYNINE days trapped in a mine. I can't even imagine what that would be like. To be trapped anywhere, not able to leave at your own will, having to get food and supplies from a hole not much bigger than my fist. I just can't imagine. First of all, how scary. Secondly, and this might seem shallow, but how boring! 33 people all stuck together out of circumstance, having to deal with each other. They must have either learned to love or hate one another, although I'm sure they don't hate each other.
It's so great that they are all almost out now! :) here's the link
One more thing...
I have a guy in one of my classes that frequently makes a fool of himself, and frequently uses the F*bomb. You've got to be kidding me. Where is the respect these days, why would anyone think that would be appropriate?!
I always want to ask him, and I just might do it on Friday, what would his mother say about that?
kids these days...

a month later...
im finally posting..
when im at work forty hours a week, i just hate getting on the computer when i get home. 8 hours on the computer is more than enough for me. since school started this week im on at home much more, doing homework, checking facebook, etc.
school starting. ugh. im so thankful that i only have 14 weeks of undergrad left. however, this also scares me because i have no idea what im going to do when im finally done. im just trying to not worry about it for now. im taking a pretty heavy load, but i have two political science classes that i hate and love all at the same time.
if you read my blog regularly, you've probably noticed that i dont typically post anything that matters... just pictures, movies, books. but today i want to address an issue that has come up twice in two different classes, along with being in the news all the time. i feel very strongly about it. it would be... the mosque "situation" at ground zero. i know this might surprise many of you, but seriously america... this should NOT even be an issue. yes, im curious where the money to build it is coming from, but that aside, it would be against everything that america stands for to deny any religious organization the right to build a place of worship anywhere they want to. yes, it might not be the best place for a mosque to be built, but they have the right. america was founded on the basis of religious freedom. its like muslims are becoming the new african americans. we always have to have a minority to pick on in this country and now that it cant be the blacks it has to be the muslims. they have the same rights as everyone else in the country. its not right to tell someone that they cant worship in whatever way they see fit. you cant hold up nonchristians to christian standards. its not right or fair.
just had to get that off my chest.
i am going to try to post regularly from now on.. and they probably wont be controversial. :)

hmmm...
President Obama can't give a decent gift??? read for yourself...
i'm not sure what to say about this article by the New York Daily News. if it's true, which i'm pretty sure it is, it's apalling. Some might blame it on he's inexperience, but doesn't he have advisors??
i'd like opinions if ya got em.

dear congress...
google "socialism" and get a clue.
aren't most government officials lawyers? then they should know what the differences between capitalist and socialist economies. i'm totally disgusted with the economic stimulus packages. the only thing they stimulating are the pocketbooks of the executive big wigs who obviously don't know much about how to use their money wisely or they wouldn't need help from the government. "hmmm...i think i'm going to by a new private jet while my factories are laying off people all of the country. it's ok because i have extra money from the government." that's the biggest load of crap i've ever heard. the government should be bailing out the working people of america...the middle class and small businesses. here's some info thats all about small business is our economy. so my questions is, is the government going to be here when my dad's business goes under because he can't find jobs?? (this is hypothetical, i don't forsee that really happening anywhere in the future.) the answer, NO!!
Socialism according to Wikipedia:
Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and a society characterized by equal opportunities for all individuals with a fair or egalitarian method of compensation.
"state or collective ownership"
just in case you weren't aware, the U.S. Government is now stockholders in the companies that they give money to.
stupid congress. i'm writing a letter (or e-mail) and you should too! click on the name and it'll show you how.
Kay Bailey Hutchison John Cornyn
sorry for the rant. this is on the news every morning, and it is very important that the new bill does not pass in it's current form.

DEMOCRACY!!!
so i missed the inaguaration... bummer. i was in class.
i must say this though:
let me be frank, i'm not a fan of President Obama.
however, i just can't help but be excited today! today is what our country was created for. the majority of our citizens decided that Barack Obama was the best person to be the new leader of the free world and because of that, he took office. this is democracy at work. this is a priveledge that a lot of the people in world dont have. as americans, we have the right to choose who governs us. i just love it!
we have a new president. it's a fact. nothing can be done to change who won. complaining about him doesn't change the fact that he's still going to be living in the white house. for the next four years we'll have to make the best of what comes. God has a plan. God is always good. all we can do is pray...
