dear john.

since im always looking for something good to read...whenever i watch the previews at the movies i always keep a look out for movies that are based on books. typically, movies arent based on books that arent good, so if there's a movie made about it i must be a really great book! i saw the previews to dear john a few weeks ago and decided i would read it...

let me tell you, nicolas sparks lives up to his reputation for writing ridiculouly tragic love stories. i really liked this book, but it was almost too sad for me! it is written from the perspective of a sergeant in the army, john. he meets a girl when he comes home on leave, savannah, and they begin to write back and forth. because of the war in iraq, he doesnt get to home when expected...so the whole book is just about their long distance relationship.

its a tear jerker.
