Sometimes I wonder, no, I know, that I could be one of the most awkward people, well, possibly ever.
Friday I met a guy that I've had several people tell me I need to meet (and have told him, too.). Seriously, two different people know us both and have wanted us to meet. What are the odds.
I went.
I met.
I blushed uncontrollably.
I awkward silenced. (yes, that's a verb)
and
I left.
the end.
I think part of it is the pressure of being told you'r perfect for each other. It's like the whole thing is doomed before it begins.
One day, I will find a man (hopefully) that will find my weird and awkward personality endearing, until then, I just feel sorry for all the guys that are forced to endure it.
file under: I survived the rapture... awkwardness lives to see another day.

adventures in babysitting.
An actual conversation I had with a 10 year old girl last night.
"Are you married?"
"No."
"But you're pretty..."
"Well, thank you."
"How old are you?"
"22"
"Whoa! and you haven't met any guys you like?!"
"Nope, not yet..."
"Wow. My dad's been married 6 times. Even I have a boyfriend."
Well little girl... if your intentions were to make me angry and annoyed, you succeeded.

eh.
This is how I arrived, and I have an inkling that this is how I will leave. I got too much* sleep last night, overslept, left the house with no coffee or breakfast, and just got my ass chewed out** by an angry customer.
*too much?! that shouldn't even be possible.
**I wouldn't get my ass chewed out if other people in my office would take care of things. Hasn't anyone ever heard the saying, "Don't shoot the messenger."

A conversation...
with a 6 year old. [I keep kids during a bible study on monday nights @ Johnson Street]
Here's how it went:
me: "I left your prize at my apartment."
him: "You have an apartment?"
me: "Yes."
him: "You have a husband?"
me: "No."
him: "You have kids?"
me: "No."
him: "You have pets?"
me: "No."
ME.

him: "You have NOTHING?!?!"
Criticized by a 6 year old for not getting married/having kids when I moved out...
